Week 8 Recap and Week 9 Bulletin

8/8/25

Week 8 launched campers out of this world! ๐Ÿš€

๐Ÿ–Œ๏ธ This week’s crafts included making UFO’s from paper plates, forming an alien out of air-dry clay, making “fizzy” paintings, and decorating their own space-themed key chains.

๐Ÿงฌ Campers worked together throughout the week building a “Mars” Volcano, from construction, to painting, to erupting!

๐Ÿง˜๐Ÿฝโ€โ™€๏ธ For Mind and Body, campers learned about how different cultures have looked to the stars for storytelling/meaning and the constellations connected to each of their birthdays.

๐Ÿ‘Ÿ For physical activity, they played Scatter Ball (“Meteor Shower”), had fun under the rocket sprinkler, and rehearsed for next week’s Water Show performance.

๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿš€๐Ÿ‘ฝ On Wednesday, campers dressed as space explorers and creatures, with multiple eyes, intergalactic tech, and outfits fit for the stars. ๐ŸŒŒ

๐ŸŽ‰ For this week’s specialty, campers enjoyed an adventure into a planetarium set up in our very own gym space!

๐Ÿšดโ€โ™€๏ธ Bold Adventures campers had an exciting week of exploration, visiting the Connecticut Science Center on Tuesday, and the Sacred Heart Discovery Center and Planetarium on Wednesday. Due to unexpected events, Thursday’s trip to the New England Air Museum was rescheduled to Monday, 8/11.

๐Ÿ“ข Leaders-in-Training had the opportunity to explore the Connecticut Science Center.
