At Girls Incorporated of Meriden we offer a full-service gymnastics program model for ages 3–18, with both recreational and competitive options for the budding gymnasts. Our staff are trained and have their safety and spotting certifications to ensure your loved ones are receiving a quality gymnastics experience.
About the Gymnastics Classes
All of our classes are split by age and skill ability. Classes run once a week for an hour, or for forty-five minutes for our little ones. Our coaching staff routinely evaluates skill levels and will consult with families on options for growth within the program when the gymnast is ready both skill and maturity wise. We strive to provide a fun, safe and structured atmosphere where girls can learn at their own pace and achieve success at all levels.
About the Competitive Team
We compete in the AAU League. Gymnasts who wish to be on our competitive team must be invited or evaluated to join. Depending on the competitive level, practice time in the gym will vary from 4–6 hours per week. Team practice days are Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. There is always a meeting in the fall to go over the various fees and obligations that will occur during the season.
If your loved one is invited to compete and chooses not to, she can continue in the recreational program if you choose. Being invited means your loved one has the skills necessary to be on team and the choice is up to the gymnast and family to decide if you want to make that commitment.
When Do Gymnastics Programs Run?
Gymnastics programs run during the school year for 3 sessions: Fall, Winter and Spring. We have options for weeknight evening classes as well as classes on Saturdays to meet the needs of families for their convenience.
Fees are attached to each session; please refer to the Register page for a full list of our current catalog options.
At the end of each program year, we host a gym show where program participants showcase their skills learned in a fun family event right in Girls Inc.’s gym.
