GIRLS INC. OF CENTRAL CT ALUMNAE INITIATIVE LAUNCHES “FIND MY GIRLS INC. FRIENDS”

Nonprofit seeks to connect with past participants via social media and email campaign

MERIDEN, CT, DECEMBER 11, 2023 —Girls Inc. has a rich history in the state of Connecticut, especially impacting the Meriden and Waterbury areas since the late 19th century. To connect with girls and women who have benefited in previous years from Girls Inc. programs, in Connecticut or elsewhere, Girls Inc. of Central Connecticut has launched a project within their FOREVER GIRLS INC. Alumnae Initiative called “Find My Girls Inc. Friends.” This project includes a reconnection form that will be available on social media, as well as through email for Girls Inc. alumnae existing in the GICCT database. Using this form, alumnae will have the opportunity to share some Girls Inc. history and photos of their time in Girls Inc. program. Alumnae are encouraged to share the connection form with other Girls Inc. friends so the organization can reconnect with as many alumnae as possible.

“Girls Inc. alumnae throughout the region have demonstrated the impact of their Girls Inc. Experience through their accomplishments achieved after participating in our programming,” says Laura Tiedge, Executive Director of the Central Connecticut affiliate. “They have gone on to excel in their professional careers and in their impact on the communities where they live, work and play. We are excited to reconnect with these amazing, accomplished women and offer them a space where they can share their insights and expertise on the issues that matter most to them, while serving as role models to the next generation of Girls Inc. girls.  Once a Girls Inc. girl, forever a Girls Inc. girl!”

Girls Inc. of Central Connecticut’s FOREVER GIRLS INC. Alumnae Initiative extends the efforts of the Girls Inc.’s national Alumnae Association and is designed specifically for individuals 18 and older who participated in Girls Inc. (or Girls’ Clubs of America) programming, whether as a member or an employee. Girls Inc. strives to reunite with alumnae in our community and provide opportunities for reconnecting, networking, mentoring, and life-long learning. This community that allows the Girls Inc. Experience to continue living and thriving is a place to maintain and develop new connections with fellow Girls Inc. alumnae within Connecticut and beyond.
